Hello!
It’s been a time of hunkering down making lots of new artwork for my forthcoming ‘Precipice?’ solo exhibition. Opening on 1st May until 14th May at Sou’-Sou’-West Gallery, Symondsbury, Dorset, I am very excited to share this new body of work (see below for more details).
Despite the weather it’s been nourishing to appreciate nature as much as possible at seasonal events such as Apple Day and the Big Garden Bird Watch, plus visiting the glorious Yorkshire countryside and trips to local beaches – all of which inform my practice.
Sold Artworks
Am delighted that two of my largest pieces to date recently sold: ‘Sunset Cove’ (above) at Art Unlimited Gallery, Bridport and a triptych ‘Over the Bay’ (below) now resides in a beautiful cabin in the woods in Cornwall!
‘Precipice?’ Exhibition
Asking ‘are we living on the edge?’ while celebrating the official ‘Year of the Coast,’ my next solo show features a new body of contemporary landscape and seascape paintings. Watching waves crash against rocks, dramatic cliff falls and feeling ‘on top of the world’ – I hope to evoke these emotions, ask questions and tell stories through this new series. Works range from 10”x10” to (my biggest yet) 36” x 48”.
In the wonderful Sou’-Sou’-West Gallery Shop, it is open 10.30am – 4.30pm daily and the show run includes two Bank Holidays (1st May and 8th May).
You are invited to the Private View (PV) on the opening day, Monday 1st May from midday – it would be fabulous to see you!
Art in Care Homes
In the Care Homes residents have tried mono-printing, painting blackbirds using inks, beautiful seasonal flowers (snowdrops, primroses and hellebores) and succeeded at creating some Chinese script using inks for Chinese New Year!
Hope to see you at my Exhibition or the PV on Monday 1st May!
Season’s Greetings!
