Am delighted that my work ‘Sea Breeze Blocks’ is part of Bridport Sculpture Trail, along the new Bridport Green Route. It is installed by Gundry Pond on the River Brit.

‘Sea Breeze Blocks’ is a sculptural statement on the heritage and future of fishing along our local coastline.

The piece asks us to make a connection between the permanence of the breeze block material, commonly used in foundations, with concerns over fluctuating fish stocks and the uncertainty of the fishing industry (and associated industries, such as net-making) – themselves, the foundations of our local area.

We are responsible for the rising ocean temperatures that have already reduced global fish stocks by nearly 5 per cent, and up to 35 per cent in key fishing regions such as the North Sea.
