Hello! It’s that hunkering down time of year and the landscape is glistening. My new smaller pieces reflect this by being predominantly painted using metallic and pearlescent inks. |

Prizes I was delighted to be selected as Bridport Art Society’s ‘2023 Winner of the Al Watkin Cup’ for ‘Best Acrylic Painting’ for my entry in the Summer Exhibition. |
Exhibitions Art Unlimited’s international open art competition in September was a great success, and my popular artwork ‘Nightswimming (Sturgeon Moon)’ happily sold! I met the lovely customer, a keen art collector, at the Private View, who had instantly “fallen in love” with the piece that reminded her of wonderful holidays at West Bay. |
Workshops and Art SessionsI delivered another workshop for Mountjoy SEN School on behalf of Asker Meadows Nature Reserve (funded by the Bournemouth University and the Sustainable Development Fund) this term in which we created two collaborative pieces, one of the autumn sky (rainbows, clouds, thunder) and the other the path along the River Asker and the people and creatures we may encounter there! The participants were responding to their visits, including invaluable litter-picking, at the Nature Reserve. There will be a celebratory event with an exhibition of their artwork and poetry created alongside performance poet Jonny Fluffypunk in the evening of Monday 15th January at Bridport Town Hall, hosted by Mayor Dave Bolwell. |
Art in Care HomesOver the last few months, residents have been working in the style of Seurat, Bob Ross inspired mountain views on black, painting cloudscapes, autumnal apples and pumpkins, and of course, starting on our Christmas cards (using evergreen foliage). |
